Dr. Paul Singh is Professor Emeritus, CANR, Michigan State University with over 26 years of faculty service. He is currently working with Federal Aviation Administration and Department of Transportation for air and truck transport involving hazardous materials. He is currently President of Packaging Research Associates Inc. (Andeva Packaging) and has managed over 1000 consulting projects over 30 years with over 400 Fortune 500 and US federal agencies.
His past responsibilities included research and teaching in the areas of packaging, transportation and logistics, innovative packaging materials and processes, machinery, robotics and sustainability. He has served as a technical and legal expert to various Fortune 500 companies, federal agencies and international organizations like the Department of Defense, Department of Justice, USPS, United Nations, World Bank, European Union and ISO addressing problems related to Packaging and Transportation. Dr. Singh is Technical Liaison to TC 122 in International Standards Organization, International Scientist at China Packaging Research, and Adjunct Professor at Kasetsart University. He is past Chair of Division 1, D-10 Packaging Committee at American Society of Testing and Materials (ASTM) and was inducted as a Fellow in 2007. He serves on the Boards of International Safe Transit Association (1STA), and National Institute of Packaging and Handling Engineers (NIPHLE). He is past Vice President of International Association of Packaging Research Institutes (IAPRI). He is a Lifetime Certified Packaging Professional (CPP) and Fellow of Institute of Packaging Professionals (IOPP). He was inducted into the Military Packaging Hall of Fame in 2010 and previously awarded the Logistics Achievement Award by NIPHLE for “professionalism, hard work and contribution to the field of packaging, handling and logistics”. Dr. Singh received the Award of Merit by ASTM for lifetime contributions in developing new package test standards, educational materials and distinguished service to ASTM technical committees. He has over 500 publications, conference papers, technical reports and book chapters. He is the author of “Packaging and Transportation Forensics: Reducing Risk and Liability”. He was an invited keynote speaker on Sustainability in Packaging in six international conferences in four continents. He was the founding Director of the Consortium of Distribution Packaging Research at Michigan State University for 20 years (1990-2010).
Dr. Singh provides consultation on a contract basis to assist projects related to transportation and packaging. He was selected by NASA to review the BioPlex project (Manned Mission to Mars) for advanced life support systems.
