About Us

My name is Phil Devore and I am an actively teaching and practicing dentist in Las Vegas seeking to offer my services as an expert witness, case planner and evaluator to the legal profession, particularly in regard to professional liability matters.

I have been teaching and practicing dentistry for over thirty very gratifying years. Upon my graduation from UCLA, I was invited to lecture in the practice management program for seventeen consecutive years and I have also taught at the University of Oklahoma School of Dentistry in practice management. In addition to private practice, I have been privileged to lecture to thousands of dentists and their staffs as well as working as an expert witness and legal advisor in the private sector.

After twelve years of treating patients in my California offices and part-time teaching at UCLA, I retired from practice at age thirty-six to teach and consult in my field, specializing in marketing and clinical efficiency. I lectured and consulted in over thirty states and dozens of cities, teaching dentists and their employees how to be more kind, considerate, thoughtful and effective as a clinical team, resulting in more profitable and successful practices. I attended over 1,800 dental offices and worked with thousands of doctors during this ten-year period, training them to be better managers and doctors, creating dental offices that better served their patients.

In 2002, I returned to chair side practice in Nevada and ongoing consultation for various private clients. While I continued to publish papers in various dental journals, I missed the classroom. UNLV invited me to teach part-time and I jumped at the opportunity. I taught the business curriculum in a two- semester classroom course in addition to working as a clinical instructor in the student dental clinic one-half day per week. During this time, I served as the Editor of the Nevada Dental Association Journal, a peer-reviewed journal and returned to working with the legal profession as a witness and advisor.

In April of 2012, I sold my Nevada practice to a large dental corporation and became the clinical director for their eight offices in Nevada, while still practicing clinical dentistry full-time. Then, in January of 2014, I accepted a full-time faculty position as a visiting associate professor of clinical sciences. In addition to my work as a dental educator, I also serve as the director of the faculty dental practice, which allows me and other members of the faculty to render direct care to our patients. In my case, I treat many of the faculty and administration of both the School of Dental Medicine and those from main campus, personally caring for patients approximately eighteen hours every week.

My course prepares my students to operate a small business and to thrive in the competitive environment of the Universe outside of the school. I also cover such diverse issues as ethics and accounting in order to expose them to subjects that are not otherwise found in the curriculum from the perspective of actual practice, not abstract, academic theory. I also teach a communication course that prepares sophomores to leave the lab and communicate effectively with patients as they encounter them in the clinics

In my clinical work with the students, my goal is to prepare them to be superb clinicians as well as thoughtful, careful, and considerate doctors. I work closely with the students to show them on a one-on-one basis how to perform clinical procedures better and more easily, keeping the patient’s best interest in mind while doing excellent clinical dentistry. My goal in the clinic is to coach my students to be the best, most competent and patient-centered doctors that they can be.

As a function of my experience and training, when working as a dental expert, I can offer advice on case viability and strategic planning for depositions and trial. I am also very well qualified to testify in affidavits, depositions and at trial. Please see the attached case listing and curriculum vitae for further details as to my experience and qualifications. Writing samples, fees and references are available upon request. Please contact me at the above numbers if I may assist you in your dentally related cases.
