While married to Champion Jockey Sandy Hawley based out of Woodbine Race Track in Canada and the California racetracks of Santa Anita, Hollywood Park and Delmar traveled to South Africa and what was then Rhodesia and all over North America racing..
Galloped horses (one of the first women to professionally gallop horses at Woodbine Race Track) was an Assistant Trainer and then a Owner and Trainer myself. Worked at Woodbine for from 1964 to 2009.
Galloped Champion Horse of the Year " Mr. Epperson" for Trainer Scott Fairlie.
After the fire at Woodbine was on the Committee that distributed money to the Owners and Trainers of dead and disabled horses.
STEEPLE CHASING
Won the Ladies Race at North York and placed second in the prestigious Prince of Wales Cup.
Was the sole female jockey beaten only 1/2 length by Stake horse "Monte Cristo ll" trained by Hall of Fame trainer Frank Merrill.
HUNTERS AND JUMPERS
Competed in World Cup Show Jumping in Ontario.
Numerous show jumping championships in California and Ontario.
Was coached notably by Kathy Kusner (three time Olympian) and Ian Millar (10 time Olympian)
Managed a forty horse show stable along with Susan Pritchard; coached horses and riders.
Attended shows throughout North America.
Owner and trainer of "Stardust Mel" who represented Canada on the Canadian Equestrian Team ridden by Ian Millar.
Wrote an article for the "California Thoroughbred' on retraining Thoroughbreds from the Track to Show Ring.
