David G. Morrill

David G. Morrill has been involved in the construction of more than 50,000 swimming pools during his career in the swimming pool industry. He first entered the swimming pool business as a partner in Iransaf, Ltd., a company that pioneered the construction of modern swimming pools in Iran. He left that company to work as a civilian employee for the Army Corps of Engineers, and later returned to the United States to gain substantial “hands-on” experience in the construction trades before accepting a project manager assignment for a growing swimming pool company in the Los Angeles area. Construction experience led to further skill in sales and design, where Mr. Morrill excelled before moving into management positions.

For over 20 years, Mr. Morrill managed an office in San Diego for a highly respected swimming pool and spa business. In 1978, he returned to the Los Angeles area to accept an appointment as vice-president of California Pools & Spas, and then was appointed as president in 1985. He lead the company through its most productive, exciting years of growth as it became the third largest swimming pool construction company in the world, and the most awarded and recognized company in Southern California. During this time, no other company won more design awards than California Pools.

Mr. Morrill was the qualifying officer for the company’s California contractor’s license and holds his own individual license #418811 (C-53 Swimming Pool Contractor). He retired from California Pools in 2007 to form and direct Pool Resolution Consulting.

Mr. Morrill served as the first vice-president of the San Diego County Association of Pool Builders, followed by three decades of leadership in both the local and national swimming pool and spa industry organization, APSP (Association of Pool and Spa Professionals). Mr. Morrill also served on the executive board of the California Swimming Pool Education Council (SPEC) and helped define and write construction standards which were adopted as guidelines by the California State Contractor’s Licensing Board.

During his years in the industry, Mr. Morrill has formed working relationships with experts in all phases of swimming pool construction, including design, engineering, product manufacture, surveying, pool maintenance, and legal issues. Mr. Morrill’s experience and resources ensure that Pool Resolution Consulting clients—both homeowners and businesses—have access to the assets they require for successful resolution of their concerns.
