• Successfully completed and achieved academic accreditation (2003 graduate) for the professional designation of Accredited Automotive Manager (AAM) from the Automotive Management Institute (AMI). The AAM designation is the Collision industry's first and only business education accreditation. AMI courses concentrate on five core areas of business management education: financial management, marketing and sales, operations and service, management and administration, and personnel and human resource development.

• Introduced to the industry at a young age working in a family owned & operated Collision Repair Businesses in Alaska and Washington States.

• U.S. Air Force December. 1969 thru December 1975 as Pharmacy Technician, Hospital Squadron, MacDill AFB, Tampa, FL, received honorable discharge as an E4.
• Founded, owned & operated local (Tampa) auto body repair business: Custom Auto Body & Paint by Barrett (3 years) at South MacDill Ave. 1976 thru 1979
• Senior Claims Adjuster (Tampa Bay area) Florida licensed (6-21) with Progressive Insurance Company, a nationally recognized auto insurance carrier (5 years). 1979 thru 1984
• Managed collision/cosmetic repair facilities at two regional General Motors dealerships (3 years collectively). Bayview Buick and Golden Oldsmobile, Port Richey, FL 1985-1988
• National Sales Manager and Installations Manager for Custom Cable Industries (CCI), an internationally recognized innovative data connectivity manufacturer-network installer (3 years). 1989 thru 1992
• Co-Owner and Operational Manager of Hi Tech Collision Centers (Clearwater) 1 year; (sold out of partnership November ‘93).
• Past President and co-owner of Brandon Paint & Body, Inc. (Dec. 1993 – Feb 2008) a provider of high quality automotive collision and cosmetic repair related services. Note: In 1995 Brandon Paint & Body, Inc., was recognized as one of the nation’s “Top-Shop”, and remained recognized as one of the five (5) best Collision repair facilities in the Tampa Bay area in both customer service and quality workmanship. • Brandon Paint & Body was nominated and subsequently selected as finalist for “Brandon’s Small Business of the Year Award” for the consecutive years of 1998, 1999 and 2000.

Activities include providing opinions as an expert in appraisal clause activities, mediation, arbitration, litigation, and other dispute resolutions and automotive forensic related services. Diminished Value Assessments generally involve a thorough inspection of a vehicle after of which repairs have been performed. Utilizing recognized and accepted industry related materials and other data and collective professional experiences, a verbal and/or narrative report is generated which clearly outlines the minimal diminished value sustained to a vehicle based on numerous factors, including, but not limited to, the vehicle’s pre-loss value, nature and severity of sustained damages (frame and/or structural damages etc.), the accuracy of the corrective damage assessments, the methodology and level of quality and workmanship provided, as well as the quality of parts and materials employed in the performed repair. Additionally, consulting services are provided to repairers, insurers, legal professionals, industry associations and consumers in the various areas of automotive damage related issues including the business of automotive collision repair, insurance related programs and programs development to better serve the consuming public.
