President, Residential Services, Carmel Partners: Responsible for property management of this real estate investment, development and management firm with a diverse portfolio of multifamily properties, which included one of the largest assets in the United States.
Principal/Founding Partner, Ventana Property Services: A third party management and consulting service provider involved with both commercial and multifamily assets. Portfolio comprised of 10,000 apartment units and 3,500,000 square feet of suburban, urban and mixed use commercial properties.
President, Prometheus Management Group: Directed the Asset/Property Management activities for both owned and third party fee managed commercial and multifamily assets. Portfolio consisted of 12,000 apartment units and 4,000,000 square feet of commercial assets.
Background also includes positions of increasing responsibility with a variety of real estate management,
brokerage, development, and investment firms with assets located throughout the United States and Canada.
Steven Epcar, Principal, is a Certified Property Manager (CPM) and a licensed California real estate broker with more than 30 years of experience managing and marketing multifamily and commercial real estate assets throughout the United States and Canada. High quality performance is a result of the hands-on management style that Steven brings to the project team. His comprehensive understanding of organizational structure and the dynamics of human resources, translates into a responsive, professional customer service orientation at every level. This focus insures that every team member will play a pivotal role in carrying out the philosophy of quality, consistency and innovation, while achieving each client’s stated goals and objectives.
Prior to establishing his consulting firm nearly ten years ago, Epcar was with Carmel Partners – a privately held real estate investment, development and management firm – where he served as President, Residential Services. Throughout his tenure at Carmel Partners, he provided leadership in developing the management team and resources for a portfolio of multi-family assets located throughout the Western United States. Prior to Carmel Partners, he was a founding partner and Chief Executive Officer for Ventana Property Services, a third-party management and consulting firm based in Northern California. During his ten years with Ventana, he was responsible for building one of the most successful independent real estate organizations in California, managing residential and commercial assets for both institutional investment real estate organizations and private investors.
Epcar also served as President of Prometheus Management Group, a premier San Francisco Bay Area based real estate management organization overseeing properties throughout the Western United States. He was responsible for overseeing the management, marketing and leasing of a residential and commercial portfolio valued in excess of $2 billion. In addition, he has held various Senior Executive positions at development, investment and management groups with responsibilities throughout the United States and Canada.
Steven Epcar is a leader in the California real estate industry, serving as a past or present member of the Institute of Real Estate Management (IREM), the Building Owners and Managers Association (BOMA), the California Apartment Association (CAA) and the National Multi-Family Housing Council (NMHC). He has served as a Director for California Housing Council prior to its merger into California Apartment Association, as well as served on the Board of Directors of the Housing Industry Foundation, National Apartment Association (NAA) and Forensic Expert Witness Association (FEWA). In addition, he is a past co-chairman of the Tri-County Housing Council’s Political Action Committee.
