Forensic Investigation and Failure Analysis (including fire investigation)
Ivey Engineering, Inc. (IEI) investigates failures, performs testing and research, analyzes data and provides independent and objective opinions regarding standard of care, cause and origin, damages and repair methodology. Presentation, reports and exhibits are prepared as necessary. The cases often involve construction defects, personal injury or product liability.

Construction Claims
IEI reviews documents, performs site inspections, prepares detailed CPM schedule analyses, researches industry standards, prepares reports, prepares exhibits and provides presentations to assist clients in resolving construction disputes. Typical disputes involve changes, delays, damages and impacted labor efficiency.

Estimating and Cost Analysis
IEI provides estimates and analyzes costs for general construction, HVAC, plumbing, electrical, architectural, and process piping systems utilizing nationally recognized standards and techniques.

Design Errors and Omissions
IEI analyzes HVAC, plumbing and electrical design work to determine whether it meets the standard of care for the design professional. This often requires document review, research, analysis and design calculations.

Litigation Support
Exhibits are prepared and testimony provided based upon an independent and objective investigation, research, analysis and testing.

Design

Product Testing and Patent Protection
As an independent third party product testing service, Ivey Engineering, Inc. provides plumbing mechanical and electrical product testing to meet the needs of clients. Testing is performed for conformance to written industry standards or as part of a failure analysis engagement. IEI’s experts are specialist in evaluating the engineering and technology of plumbing, mechanical and electrical products and provide customized product testing solutions for both manufactured systems and individual components. The testing is performed in the IEI test labs in San Diego, California and, when necessary, at other facilities.
