About Us

Meier Fire is one of the few firms specializing solely in fire and explosion investigation. We have investigated and analyzed, tested and provided litigation support for many fire and explosion events of almost every type imaginable for insurance companies, manufacturers, public entities and interested parties of all types requiring an in depth understanding of the event.
The experts at Meier Fire don't just do investigations... They research, write, and teach fire investigation to the rest of the industry. We sit on the NFPA and ASTM task groups and committees that write the standards for fire investigation and fire testing.
Whether it's a kitchen fire across town, or a refinery explosion across the ocean, we can provide the know-how to get the job done right, the first time.

Investigations, Examinations, Origin, Fuel, Ignition, Analysis, Testing, Cause, Responsibility, Testimony... Yes, we do all that and more! ©

Origin and Cause Investigation

The heart of any investigation, finding the origin of the fire or explosion is key. Only after the origin is correctly identified can an investigator begin to look for the potential ignition sources, fuels and circumstances which brought the two together and caused the event. Many of the standard techniques now used around the world were and are being developed or refined by the experts at John A. Kennedy and Associates.

Fire and Explosion Analysis

You've documented the scene, you've collected the evidence, but what does it all mean? An effective fire investigator must be part detective, part engineer and part scientist if he or she is to fully analyze and understand the data collected after the incident. An understanding of electrical and mechanical engineering, chemistry, failure analysis and other occupational specialties are required to create a clear picture of what occurred and why. Our experts have the education, training and experience needed and are up to the task.

Expert Witness and Litigation Support

The fire or explosion has been investigated and analyzed. Now comes the real test... Can your expert get the point across to a jury? Ours can. Our experts have been to thousands of depositions and hundreds of trials. A new investigator at JAK&A will spend years on countless investigations before his or her first testimony. They will assist other experts in their depositions and trials to gain exposure and experience before counsel ask the first question. Our company motto: "The fire litigation arena is no place for amateurs!"
